The care we received made us realize we were not alone, this was a great comfort. It also gave us a point of reference; if our contact couldn't answer any of our queries, she could always point us in the right direction.
Efficient and knowledgeable.
Cancer is a very scary thing to have to live with. You are on the unknown and for all the family also. Its having a safely net of St. Peter's to be able to call on when needed which is a blessing. So I don't know what can be improved on as far as me and my family are concerned we are more than pleased with the care and attention given.
Helen was patient and kind. Gave me confidence to cope with my husbands last time.
The care given was outstanding. We feel the care given to my husband (and my daughters father) was dignified, thoughtful and understanding and most attentive. Everything was done to improve my husbands well being and comfort whilst in St. Peter's Hospice. The atmosphere in St. Peter's gives you a feeling of calm and support. Service being transferred to a nursing home we are skill receiving your generous and excellent support. Thank you all very much. As far as we are concerned no improvements needed.
My mum was under the care of Community Nurse Specialist..... Collette Mapley. The care and support she gave my mum and our family was exceptional. Collette's warmth, compassion, friendliness, expertise and understanding was incredible.... it provided us with trust, comfort, calmness and reassurance... as well as all the practical and medical help that was needed. Collette felt like part of our family....
My mum died at home... where she wanted to be, with a look of happiness and contentment upon her face. We could not have asked for anymore....
Thank you to Collette and thank you to St. Peter's Hospice.
My mother very sadly passed away on Saturday 16th January 2016. We are a large family, and yet despite our numbers, it was very difficult for everyone to be able to have time off work to allow us all to care for our mother, at home, as she wanted. Without the support of St Peters Hospice, we could not have provided our mum with the care, dignity and respect she so deserved, in her last weeks of life. The empathy and kindness provided by your team, was amazing. You were able to guide us and inform us, which meant that we didn't feel that things were totally out of our control.
The words "thank you" are not enough, to express how we feel about the support and care you provided to both mum, and us.
It was a life-changing experience for all of us as a family, but we coped thanks to your support. Thank you.
My mum passed away at home may 2015, I was very happy with the care and respect my mum's nurses had and the after care was amazing I can not thank your staff enough. I was help to start thinking about how I can look forward to my life and carry on without her the hardest time of my life thank my nurse Dierdre I am learning to live without my mum thank you for everything Mrs June Maundrill
The course was well shelved with easy to understand messages. It had a very good mix of " theory" and practical advice delivered in a very empathetic and appropriately directive way. Five weeks well spent. Like all things, time is of the essence, but I think the sessions on exercise deserved a day in themselves as well as the 10 mins or so to each week. Environment was pleasantly comfortable but depending on where one was sitting it was quite difficult to hear - especially comments from the participants.
All the carers were very supportive informative - quietly confident. It was good to be allowed to care for my husband at home in order for him to die with dignity and where he wanted to be - It was a tough call on me, made easier with the hospice at home support. Thank you.
